We better get a fat Omega block after this heatwave ends.

Only good thing ive noticed about the upcoming heatwave is that it's gonna be bone dry. Seeing sub20% humidity, which translate to sub 40 dews

The bigger problem in your area is soil moisture anomaly departures are extremely bad:

Definitely not bad but definitely can use rain here. Big trees don't need it but the smaller plants do. Grass, Shrubs, Veggies.

Only 0.03" since the 10th and when you have summer temps (above 80°) 2 inches of rain that fell beginning of month is gone. Dried up.

Just took this today. Getting parched down low.

Hmm..thanks!
Drought = Dry soil = more heat, right? Any idea as to why 2017 was so hot then? We had record rain that year

Also, have you heard of any way to geoengineer ourselves out of these megadroughts?

Thanks, again.

12Z runs of all the major models were pretty much in agreement with a historically cold Saturday May 29th with potentially record-breaking low max temperatures in the Mid-Atlantic states. NWS isn't buying yet though.

Yeah especially lately. The 11-15 day outlooks from all models have been trash.

Nice day again today. After some morning showers and storms on spots it got up to 80 degrees here and 82F at both Chicago airports. Temps are now already starting to tumble in the far northern suburbs and by the lake. Waukegan is down to 69F. Im still at 79F at 7pm. We will stay in the 60s tomorrow. Maybe only low 50s on Friday with clouds a chilly wind and waves of showers.

Hit 90F for the first time today. The latest 90F temp since 2015.

May get close to that again tomorrow. Below average temps coming this weekend.

Meanwhile too much rain down here. I've had 10.79" of rain since May and 23.23" since April 1!

Vegetation is pretty lush.
