Phoenix easily

Less humid, sunnier, less rain, no snow and much warmer winters

I lived 10 years in Texas and now in Phoenix. For me, phoenix is much better due to lower humidity and more sun. The winter in Dallas isn't bad but Phoenix is much better over the winter. Summer's in both cities are rough but I consider Dallas worse as I don't handle humidity well. Oh yeah, Dallas is subject to natural disasters like tornados and Phoenix isn't so another major advantage for Phoenix.

They both suck in the summer, but Phoenix is drier. You can also drive 90ish minutes to Prescott or two hours to Flagstaff and escape the heat. There's no terrain like that around Dallas so when it's hotter than hell and miserably humid in Dallas you can draw a 200 mile radius around the Metroplex and odds are the weather will be just as crappy everywhere inside the circle.

Phoenix.

For reasons already posted.

And personal bias as I have lived here for 48 years.

To be fair, I have visited Dallas on several occasions when my daughter lived there and I remember the summer humidity. Ugh.

Joke about our dry heat but in Phoenix you can put on a hat and sunscreen and walk around a bit without being drenched.

I forgot to mention that, it's huge that yu can day trip to a much cooler climate from Phoenix but no way in heck you could do that in Dallas.

I see that this is a battle between humid heat and dry heat, so here are my thoughts about it.

If you are in the shade, inside a cabin, or simply in the middle of a street with no trees around, humid heat feels much worse than dry heat, I experienced that when I compared:
- Santiago (dry) and Buenos Aires (humid)
- Curitiba (despite having a considerable amount of rain, the air is usually dry) and Paranagua (humid)
- San Pedro de Atacama (dry) and Florianopolis (humid)

But when you're in a dry heat, you might feel worse if you're outside, because when there's dry heat, there no trees, only sand and rock, and that means you're more exposed, while in a humid heat, you have trees to walk in the shade, plus, you are less likely to get sunburned in a humid place.
