Other than the presumably high sunshine, Soda Springs is the antithesis to the stereotypical California climate. Snowfall tops 400 inches, and the nearby Central Sierra Snow Lab has recorded snow depths in excess of 200” in multiple winters. I believe this is the snowiest inhabited place in the state with records.

It’s hard for me to rate snowy climates as I’ve never lived in one, but I’m going to wager that 400 inches is way too much for me. Makes for great skiing though. C-.
