Ohio Valley climate sucks, I miss real winters in the Upper Midwest and northern New England. Lac Vieux Desert in Vilas County, WI has 28 inches of snow on the ground right now per AWOS info.

We had an unexpected light snowfall last week here, maybe a bit over an inch that fell in the late evening. I was reminded of how much longer snow lasts when dewpoints are low--two days later, there was still a decent amount left in shaded spots even with highs in the 40s. (Of course, it's all gone now.)

About 1/3 of our yard is snow free at the moment, with the deepest snow depth being about 2 inches in limited areas. It'll all be gone on Sunday most likely.

You just won't see winters like we had before 1990.

Yeah December skewed the overall winter temps here. Most of the winter was below average but the anomalies in December were just insane

The last time I wished for snow I got up the next morning and it was waist deep against the back door. I won't make that mistake again. Mama always told be to be careful what I wished for so I'm just going to wish for a good growing season with ample rain.... Not to much rain because after this winter season is finished I'm close enough to get hurricane spawned monsoon rains...

Currently, here in Downeast, Maine...18F Degrees, Dew Point 9F Degrees, Winds WNW 5mph, Gusts 6mph...Forecast of an inch or two of snow, tonight...
Another beautiful sunny day greeted us...plus, three inches of additional snow, upon five (plus), inches that fell yesterday!
The Beast (our 2007 Trail-Blazer), was jump-started again (by our beloved mechanics), today...
Little Beastie failed to turn over on Tuesday, when I had a shift that morning
and I took Quick-Silver (our 2021 Hyundai Sonata with snow-tires and studs), to my shift, that morning!
Still, The Beast started-right up and roared this afternoon...
Another beautiful blue skies today at Birch Meadows!
Though the world may rage and turn,
There is the Prince of Peace who resides with us...
and His light shines into the darkness!
I won't deny the horror around us...
nor the rumors of war!
Yet, in my prayers, I know Faithful and True
will answer!
It's been two weeks+ since my last client...
and just an eight+hr shift this week!
Fear taunts me in the morning...
and my response is: Perfect Love cast out all fear!
Sleeping in peace...
I know who is my Provider!

Decent cold for early March in the Northwoods this morning, I noticed Land O' Lakes, WI in Vilas County got down to -23F.

Nights are still to cool for the ground to warm much here but today it is supposed to jump from 41° to 80°. The biggest concern is fast warm ups can bring on those nasty spring storms.....
