DFW area has a horrid climate, way too hot and dry. You can’t grow most things there in terms of trees like the Southeast.

It doesn't look like we're getting a severe heat wave in Castle Pines, CO. The funny thing is there tends to be one around this time in September, typically maxing out around 33ºC, but the current temperature is 12ºC and we are unlikely to see anything above 26ºC for the next 2 weeks.

Hottest it got around September 2 was 93 F / 34 C on September 3-5, and my hat remains uneaten.

My Sept was never super hot like it was in 2015 thru 2020. Aug was off the charts hot.

I'm now living back in the USA after being in Germany most of the past 3 years. I decided to make my new home base on the eastern fringe of Dayton Ohio, midway between the weather extremes of the upper Midwest / Great Lakes or the deep south. Kentucky was my other possible choice, but I found a good place to rent near Dayton, so that sealed the deal.

October so far has been near perfect. There was a rain shower last night, and it is about 62F/17C just before sunrise this morning. I have windows open in the apartment. The high temp today won't get much warmer, with a bit cooler outlook for the next 3 days.
