Lots of smoke here today. Satellite images show it over large portions of Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. That low that recently flooded NYC seems to be the culprit that sent the Canadian wildfire smoke down here.

At 30.6C Ottawa has already eclipsed it's old October high record by more than a degree.

High today was 87F/31C here and at both Chicago airports. I am looking at some model guidance and I'm getting some conflicting signs sharp cool down definitely coming but now it seems that the warm up after will be short-lived and then more cool shots are to follow. At least according to the CFSv2

Yesterday came oh so close to beating the monthly high for August. It may still happen today with a forecast of 27C. If that happens, August will have only tied for 6th warmest monthly high this year at Elora RCS...
