Not surprised. Central Park was 34F-37F thorughout the storm. Air temps near ground were just too warm for high accumulations. I am surprised that there were accumulations on long island as I was predicting all rain there.
About 6 inches or so in Cumberland, MD, quickly reduced by a burst of rain at the end of the storm and then it warming up. It snowed hard, the storm just blew through too fast for us to get more.
It was some of the nastiest rain I ever remember experiencing here. It rained cats and dogs most of Saturday with temps in the mid 30s. The kind of rain I would normally associate with a spring/summer thunderstorm but at temps 30 degrees lower. Absolutely miserable weather. I kept thinking 'if this hit with temps in the low 30s, it'd be a foot and a half of snow easy".
0" on LI. Started with flurries that didn't stick. Kids got excited and ran outside. Changed to rain pretty quickly. Tomorrow another rainstorm.
