The backyard thermometer is showing temps continuing to climb, currently 20C, which is the first time we hit 20C this year after coming quite close on March 4 (19.3C).
Forecast now calls for temps to reach 21C, which would match the daily record for April 9 (1940-2023). I personally think we'll surpass the record, even if just by a fraction of a degree, since temps aren't supposed to drop until some potential thunderstorms in late afternoon.
78F in Buffalo today (not a record, hard to believe). Beats out the 72 from March 4 and 5, and is the average high for July. It never got this hot the 3 days I was here in July 2009.
Currently only 4C / 40F in Clovis, New Mexico and 5C / 42F in Amarillo, Texas....both rainy....
average highs are about 70F / 21C
My backyard thermometer got to 22.5-23.0C which beats the 21C daily record too. The official station might end up a little less hot but still at least 22.0C.

22.5°C at Elora RCS. Impressive!
Sounds like your backyard thermometer is well-placed too.
