Ok, I have to update my coldest. Went camping this weekend and Saturday morning it was a frigid
-3*F. Needless to say, I was very cold. Will not do that again.
Rural central Kentucky in the late 50s, I saw -17F on our (reliable) thermometer. With the winter clothes we had at the time, it didn't take me long to get the chores done that day and get back inside. Thank goodness the coal bin was full.
I've seen -40 F which is also -40 C.
That's about 85 degrees F or 48 degrees C colder than I'd "like" to see.
