Default we're strictly talking deciduous trees right?

Dec 1st: 99.9999% Bare (neighbour's English (?) oak holds leaves to Christmas some years. )
Jan 1st: 100% Bare
Feb 1st: 100% Bare

Mar 1st: 99.99% Bare (some maples start making small red flowers)
Apr 1st: 99% Bare, 1% blooming (more tiny tree bud/flowers)
May 1st: 50% Blooming, 40% bare, 10% leaves starting to pop out of buds
Jun 1st: 90% Fully Green, 9% Blooming, 1% bare

July 1st: 100% Green
Aug 1st: 100% Green

Sep 1st: 98% Green, 2% colour change, 0% leaf fall
Oct 1st: 33-50% Green, 45-60% colour change, 1-3% leaf fall
Nov 1st: 99.999% (see December, above ) colour change, 80-90% leaf fall

*A fair number of deciduous shrubs will still have green on Nov 1st; maybe 10% and another 20-40% have leaves with colour.

** All this being said, for the non-gardener/layman,
nothing happens with the trees until May 1st and remains interesting only until October 1st.
(if we're strictly talking about the 1st's of the months )

My estimates for my immediate surroundings this year (every year is a little different):

Jan 1st: 100% Bare
Feb 1st: 100% Bare
Mar 1st: 100% Bare
Apr 1st: 20% Blooming/80% Bare/0% Fully Green
May 1st: 40% Fully Green/ 50% Blooming/ 10% Bare
Jun 1st: 80% Fully Green/ 10% Blooming/ 10% Bare
Jul 1st: 100% Fully Green
Aug 1st: 100% Fully Green
Sep 1st: 99% Fully Green/ 1% starting to change colors
Oct 1st: 65% Fully Green/35% starting to change colors
Nov 1st: 70% with Brilliant fall colors(especially this year!)/ 25% Bare/ 5% Half green, half not green.
Dec 1st: 95% Bare/ 5% Dead Leaves still hanging on...if we get enough wind and cold those last few strong leaves wouldn't last long.

Most trees around here are bare now. There's still a few with nice colors and very few trees with some green in their leaves.

That's interesting Candle, I didn't think there would still be bare trees on June 1st in NW oregon.....

In GA, the only way we would get bare trees in early June is if the tree is dead, I don't think it's physically possible in GA to have bare trees in June "naturally"....maybe if Feb-May is extremely cold.

Warpt, so glad you're back and posting your nice and snowy pics again. Besides, I always feel better when I see your temps. It makes me feel like I don't live in the coldest place on earth.
