I don't want to jinx it but looks like much needed rain is about two minutes off. Just hope the cell holds together while it passes here. Along with the rain comes the cooler temp.Lower AC bills make me smile.

I hope you get it!! Lower A/C bills would be appreciated here also.
Wow, rain in southern Texas???? Seriously? You guys have been in quite a drought down there. TWC has even showed how they had to chop trees down cause they are dying.
OK, I'm happy that we didn't get the severe storm that was within a couple miles of us this morning. It was a bit scary, but we ended up fine.
I'm sorry to say that everyone in our area didn't end up so fortunate, but there was no loss of life and that's the main thing.

Isn't Houston more "East Texas" than it is "South Texas?"
When I think South Texas, I think grasslands/shrublands/chaparral and desert.

Were they chopping trees down in Houston?
I think Houston looks like it's southeast Tx.
Yea, the news story was on TWC a few days ago. They had planted a lot of small trees last year in hopes that they would provide shade since some of their trees were getting very old and they figured they wouldn't be around much longer.
Unfortunately, many of them ended up dying. SO it was like they were pruning trees out so at least a few could have enough water to possibly survive. It was kinda sad to see those pretty little trees being chopped down, but they were all brown and were possibly dead already.
