cat 5 hurricane with tornadoes is the most fear here in the usvi.. except one other disaster that i would fear more. and that would be la palma landslide scenario, sets of major tsunami 200 foot or more hitting the carribean. and all of the eastern seaboard..i would rather the cat 5 hurricane than the big tsunami..

A tsunami, I can't even imagine, so quick and so devastating.

Tornado, cant predict them, cant predict where they will go, how long they will last, how strong they'll be, how fast they'll move, Hurricanes you have days to get out, Floods arent as bad, just need to get to high elevation, Heat Waves are nothing, just drink water, and Earthquakes arent that bad, ive been in a 5.5 and enjoyed it, experiencing one doesnt scare me.

I chose other.... meaning wildfire. We dont have much of that here in the southeastern USA, but its not unheard of... remember northeastern South Carolina last year when the Myrtle Beach area was devistated by wildfire... then southeast Georgia the year or two before that?

We live in the hilly southern Appalachains, so tornado threats are not that high, but that would be my #2 concern, because we do have tornadoes here... just not as many as west or middle Tennessee, which are tornado alleys!

After seeing a tornado up close, I chose that option first, followed closely by flooding. Deep, fast moving water terrifies me. And I think a tsunami would be one of the worst. Watching videos of the Boxing Day tsunami is just horrifying to me.Though I guess that wouldn't really be weather-related.

All listed choices except for Tornado are predictable and you can plan accordingly. Tornadoes can come from out of no where leaving little time to get yourself to safety

Why is everyone saying tornadoes are unpredictable? The weather experts are able to pinpoint areas where tornado activity is likely days ahead of time, and once severe weather develops it is not difficult for them to tell which cells have the potential of becoming tornadic. This is what watches and warnings are for. Once a tornado does form, modern technology allows meteorologists to track the storm and predict its path with amazing accuracy.

So, unless a tornado just happens to form right on top of you - which is a one in a billion possibility - I really don't get the whole "tornadoes are unpredictable" thing, unless the person is completely cut off from media in every way imaginable.

As for me, I vote flood/tsunami. Water always has been, and always will be the most destructive force on earth.
