not always, there are some nice cities in the north like York etc Leeds is nice too, Manchester is in the north and its not that bad. But south east is considered to be the most affluent.

You have rednecks in Finalnd? :P I always imagined Finnish people to be very well bahaved with blonde hair and blue eyes

It was an exaggeration. But I thought Manchester wasn't really a nice city. Maybe I've heard wrong.

Of course we have rednecks. We call them juntti, maybe 'hillbilly' is a better word in English. Larger cities are mostly fine, most of these people live in more rural areas and smaller industrial towns. The people are uneducated, have two kids at 21, unemployed or bin men, drive drunk and pick up fights with strangers. The more North and Northeast you go, the more there are of them.

Chavs in England
Manchester itself isnt the nicest city (except city centre) but Greater Manchester area isnt too bad, it has a lot of wealthy areas.

Yes, much like the English Chavs. Not everyone is sophisticated and liberal here.
