obviously he should be waving the flag of the country he was born in.
How is it obvious? He doesn't find it obvious. Nor does anyone who's from where he's from think it's obvious. And it's a soccer game not a political statement.
I think the Irish met office are on crack.
Tomorrow will be another warm or even hot day as temperatures climb to between 22 and 27 degrees generally but as high as 29 degrees in places

I actually love France as a country.. some of their views on things are far superior to other countries. I love the idea of Laïcité, where religion is basically not recognised by the state, religious symbols are banned in schools and Religious Education is not compulsory. It's so stupid teaching kids the science of how the universe was created via the Big Bang theory, whilst also teaching them that an old man created Earth with a ball of mud in another classroom.
^^^ these are all indeed very good things about France, but don't worry, we have more than our fair share of retardation in countless areas, including education, employment, transportation, housing, taxation, business laws, among others; and the level of bureaucracy and absurdity is simply stunning for a developed nation. Having lived in studied in the extremely efficient cities that are Hong Kong and Singapore, it is sometimes downright painful to see the unnecessary complication, inefficiency and nonsense that prevails here.
Just a few examples from the top of my head:
*Businesses are REQUIRED to close at certain times, including on Sunday (except for a very few select tourist areas), even when there are both people willing to work and people willing to shop on those days
*Obtaining a driver's license is an impossibly expensive and long process (minimum €1000, €2000 not uncommon), and if you fail, good luck on waiting 3-7 months to retake it
*Long term visas follow unfathomably complex procedures (I know that well since my father's wife is foreign)
*Students are expected to pursue a master's degree right after their bachelor's, without any significant work experience; following which they usually undertake internships which can be as long as a year, with a monthly salary sometimes as low as 450€, while working 50-70 hours a week
*More generally, we absolutely ignore universally used academic metrics such as GPA, making it awfully complicated to be evaluated by foreign companies or universities
*If someone breaks into your house and starts living in it (e.g. while you're on vacation), you have 48 hours to call the police, after which you cannot legally kick them out
*...100000 other things
Rozenn, feel free to enrich this list.
Btw, I don't see any problem with collecting data on ethnicity. It is a parameter like income, religion, height, eye color, beer consumption or any other. Statistics are statistics.

The French model veers to almost anti-religious at times (banning people from wearing religious symbols seems like an infringement of liberty). I prefer the American model:

I need some information:
1. Your address
2. When you're going on holiday
PS: is that really true?
