Whenever I hang out with an "older" crowd (23-30 is "older" to me, I'm 21) I always feel like my opinion doesn't matter because I'm young everything I say simply gets ignored or overlooked. Sigh.....I think I just feel like crap tonight.

I think I am having a crush on this chic at the gym. Thing is that she is only 16. That's a tad too young.
Being really serious here, but I can't believe the huge effect of the wind direction on the indoor temperature here. My windows face East and since the change to a cold easterly wind it is almost impossible to keep the temperature above 13°C (yes you read that right) with heating on a ridiculously expensive setting.
I hadn't noticed this until now because, and seriously thank the Lord, we have had a real lack of easterly winds this winter. But it is quite shocking. My elec prices have more than doubled in this dreadful wind change, so I am so glad it won't last. Because if we did have a winter with these easterly winds I would simply not be able to afford to live in acceptable indoor temperatures and yes that is a big deal, especially considering that I am already dressed up in ridiculous amounts of layers. I would have to find some kind of winter fuel assistance plan if that even exists. So yes for people in old buildings like this with no insulation, single glazed windows (the energy efficiency rating is an F here) it is a very big deal indeed and a real concern and milder weather in winter is a real necessity.

I felt the same way when I was 18. If I dared to argue with someone older than me, and made them look stupid because they didn't know what they were talking about (pretty normal in my family), they would often say, "I'm not going to argue with an 18 year old."
I've always preferred hanging around with people older than me too. It was beneficial when I was 16 and couldn't drive.
