Our first cool day this year was nov 1 (low 52 high 68). But normally does not occur until late november.

I consider "cool" to be a daily average of 60 or below

Like with any Australian capitals it never starts getting truly 'cold', but yep, May is the month of significant cooling down.

Another indicator is my jacket which lies dormant in the wardrobe from mid to late October through to early May. It is now back in use again!
Superb mornings!

On Long Island, we get our first "cool" day (i.e, high temp below 60F/15C) in early October.
The first freeze (0C) generally occurs in early November.
The first day with a high temperature below freezing usually occurs in mid-December.
The temp (almost) never drops below 0F (-18C); Plant Hardiness Zone 7.

It's relative to what you're used to. I am acclimated to where I live, and I notice a change at the 70 mark for both highs and lows. So morning get noticeably cooler for us by Oct 6th, while afternoons colder by Dec 6th
