Which beach is the quietest? I have out of towners coming in for a visit, and I would like to avoid the tourist areas.
Thanks!

Well, being that it's tourist season that might be a bit difficult.. I know there are parts of MacArthur State Park north of Singer Island that are pretty quiet. Also some areas in Jupiter that are not so bad.

Can't think of any spots in the south county area that are not packed during season...

The beach in Boca Raton is great as it has a berm of trees separating it from the road, and is not all built-up like some of the more commercial beaches in the area. So while I wouldn't call it "secluded" it is more natural and open than other areas. There is an artificial reef that you can snorkel on - it's not very big but it's fun (bring your own snorkel/mask).

However, if you are not a resident with a beach parking permit, it'll cost you somewhere between $16-20 per day for parking... there are a very few parking spots with meters on Palmetto Park Rd. and Spanish River Road, but you can't count on scoring one of those! The parking entrances are right off of A1A, between those two roads.

I lived in Boca for 3 years and loved taking walks and going swimming and snorkeling on that beach.
