No. The young are not "all" on drugs. Just the ones you know or associate with.

BTW (and I will post this until you learn how to review statistics)... this is the crime index for Boca for the past few years.... it is STABLE:

1999: 290.8
2000: 279.2
2001: 257.0
2002: 242.7
2003: 221.1
2004: 280.0
2005: 252.1
2006: 237.6
2007: 274.9
2008: 253.7

If everyone on City-data took the time to educate themselves before "speaking", this forum would be a better, more useful place.

You're absolutely right - rather than call on my own experience of being in Boca I'm going to resort to crime statistics.

No let's talk about West Palm Beach being safe now

Sisters' tale of being forced to work Palm Beach County nightclubs sheds light on human trafficking

read the comments thats on the PALM BEACH POST people that live here read this and comment.

this entire county is a DISASTER

Your "personal experiences" are no more relevant to what the average person experiences in PBC than someone living on Palm Beach Island.

And? Illegal sex trade happens all over this country. From highway truckstop "spas" in middle America, to San Francisco and New York massage parlors. It's always a pervasive problem in areas with illegal immigration as well.

The comments section of the Palm Beach Post is comprised of the most miserable assortment of louts, uninformed racists, uneducated and unemployable micreants. If those sections represented the majority of PBC residents NOBODY would live here, instead of the 1.3 million people who call the county home. The comments on this particular article you have posted are people going off on Obama and whether or not the one guy is Italian, when the story is about sex trafficking.

Long story short "saddlebee": EDUCATE yourself. It will help you out when posting on this message board, and in removing yourself from whatever situation it is that allows you to be constantly witnessing criminal behavior.

I am moving to PBC for work but from what I'm hearing another city would be better to live in. Where does anyone suggest to be within commuting distance?

If you are from and are OK with Kansas City, then West Palm has a lower crime rate, as will most cities in Palm Beach County except maybe Riviera Beach and Belle Glade.

Wellington and Royal Palm Beach are safe nice areas, both have some crime issues and seedy areas. Expensive? It depends on your standards, South Florida is a high cost of living area in general. Taxes are generally higher in Wellington.

ElCid is nice, Coolie. Lovely older homes, mature trees, you can walk along the water (intracoastal/Lake Worth lagoon) and see the lovely lights from Palm Beach at night across the way. Great place to watch the moon.

You're close to CityPlace, downtown, Norton Art Gallery, Palm Beach Photographic Centre, etc.

I often walk there at night after work.

Flamingo Park where TriMT7 is nice too, just a bit more west.

If I could afford a place In El Cid I would move there!

I always see the folks from the neighborhood walking their dogs and jogging at night. I feel it is safe there.

Jupiter, Tequesta, Juno Beach. Any further south and you're in the cesspool.
