I am planning on moving to FL in February of 2011 and would love to get some helpful info regarding what hospitals to avoid/recommend to work at in the Emergency department?

What/where are good neighborhoods to move to (southeast part of the state) that are close to the beach and are affordable. I'm not to big into the nightclub scene, looking for a more relaxing artsy area.

What can I expect as my salary as a ED RN? I will have 1.5 yrs experience all in the ED. I work a lot of 16hr shifts and try to pick up an extra shift per week.

I look forward to all the info. Thxs!

You might enjoy Lake Worth, specifically the area right around downtown and near the water, such as Parrot Cove neighborhood.

I can give help but you really have to narrow down southeast, do not know Orlando, but W palm down to Deerfield I do have input. I live in Boca, work out of L Worth for FedEx, so I travel quite a bit. Hospitals I know thru work for deliveries, better is last weekend my 10 yr. old needed to be seen on the weekend and I had to chose between Boca Comm.(where he was born), and West Boca further away but have a separate Ped. emergency. Needless to say we went west. I do know neighborhoods then again narrow down a bit your scope, just to see if I can help, later Bets

Please do extensive research on nursing salaries in FL. They are VERY low compared to other parts of the country. I have heard some fairly new nurses say they make in the "teens"!
