Hello all.

We will be relocating to PBG in a few weeks. we are having terrible luck finding rentals that we like on the MLS. Every time we find something it gets snatched up. And the rest of the rentals we find we do not like.

Is there any other way to find a rental other than MLS. Someone suggested that you can drive around and find houses that are for rent that are not put on the MLS. Is this popular in PBG? Thanks

What are you looking for? We have a few furnished studios in nearby Lake Worth we're looking to rent out... Let me know if you are interested.

Otherwise, Craigslist (try www.miami.craigslist.org (broken link)) is usually a good resource for finding houses/apartments for rent - usually by owners.

Good luck!

Ashley

I'm not from Florida, but here's how I found our rental house.

Go Through listings for houses you would like that are for sale . Focus on those that have been on the market for awhile, like 200+ days, or whatever. Then, contact the realtor and see if they would like to consider renting. Of course, that worked for us 2 years ago, the market is different now, but worth giving a try.

PBG/Jupiter rentals rent very quickly, often within a couple days of being on the market. So what you are experiencing is pretty normal.
I always tell people to start looking around 3-4 weeks before they are ready as that's usually when rentals for your time frame are listed.
Be very careful of craigslist.
Realtors can help you at no or minimal cost to you. They can screen the owners for you (which you can do on your own as well) to see how solid the owner is financially.
