Raleigh County Commission President John Aliff put it succinctly Tuesday, helping local and state authorities dedicate the new $18 million Judicial Center, one that puts every segment of the court system under a single roof.
For years, magistrates, family court justices and circuit judges were scattered across Beckley, often making it difficult when a case in one jurisdiction reached its tentacles into another.
Come May 1, all that ends.
“You are truly blessed,” state Supreme Court Justice Robin Davis told a crowd gathered in one of the new magistrate courtrooms for the ceremony.
“I’ve been in almost every county courthouse in the state of West Virginia. There is no finer facility than this judicial annex. It is incredible.”
