Bluefield Mercer Co. 2% 2% 2% 0%
Beckley Raleigh Co 7% 4% 0% 0%
Weston Lewis Co: 11% 3% 1% 1% 0%
Charleston Kanawha Co: 7% 6% 1% 0%

Got to say those figures surprise me - I believe Beckley is at a higher elevation so would have thought it was greater for Beckley than Weston. However on second glance, the Weston/Morgantown/etc area probably does get more of the Northern effect. When at Canaan, we often notice a difference of how the mountains deflect weather fronts from either the North (Northernish - NorthWest perhaps I guess) or the South (South East).
Don't forget there is often substantial difference within a given county. It often snows in the mountains outside of Morgantown but not in Morgantown itself, for example.

I think our trip is going to be postponed...I've started to worry about the holiday traffic and the level of stress it may cause. I would rather travel at a different time....cup of Joe sounds good Hinton Bound! Where did you relocate from??? Tanya

It really hasn't snowed very much in WV, I live in Moorefield (Hardy County) in the eastern panhandle and travel to Morgantown (Mon. County) on a weekly basis. The last 3 years we barely get snows that cover the ground for more than a day. These showers occur in the dead of January and February. I would not expect for you to see any flakes at all worth worrying about for another two months (unless you floridians all drive convertibles )Western Maryland and Southern Pennsylvania receive much higher amounts on average. Right now it is 60 degrees and sunny here on Sunday, Nov 15.
Note:weather patterns in this part of the country drastically change in the Fall, it can be sunny and 70 degrees and the next day be 35 degrees and rainy. If you'd like to see some major snow a city about 30 miles from Morgantown, Meyersdale, PA, close to Seven Springs resort, accumulates massive quantities during the winter and most residents have to drive snowmobiles.

Haha, I live in FL (family is from WV and VA), and we're going to WV and VA for Thanksgiving too! I've been going to Rainelle around Thanksgiving to see my Mammaw for most of my life, and it CAN snow. It doesn't usually do so, but just be prepared. It will likely be very cold though, so definitely bring warm clothes. I'm personally hoping it doesn't snow, I love WV but I HATE snow. Like AliceT said, they do a pretty good job of keeping the roads clear, so it's not too bad really. Sometimes the back roads can be a little tricky, but all in all, you should be OK. If it does snow, just be careful and you should be OK. Good luck!

I just picked Weston at random, and took a look at Accuweather.

They say freezing rain is possible Wednesday night, and on Friday, "Cold with periods of wet snow." Highs Wed ~50, Thur ~45, Fri ~39, lows 26, 22, and 24.

One of the heaviest ever snowfalls in West Virginia was on Thanksgiving weekend of 1950.
