in the dead of winter to Charleston and Huntington. You know, just to check them out for myself to see who has the best arts and culture (totally kidding about that part...) No, really, I think it would be good to walk around town and drive through the countryside a little bit. Maybe we will stay for 3-4 days. What should I definitely have on my list as a must see? And of course, for the sake of my mom- what areas should I avoid so I can avoid the "You went WHERE at WHAT TIME of day??!!!"
Keep in mind I have 3 kids from age 20 months to 10 years old. I can only drag a little one up so many ice covered hills... I'm thinking maybe in February sometime. It would also be helpful if someone could recommend a hotel in either city that is the middle of the line- under $100 a night.
Oh, and I LOVE those little hole in the wall places that the locals hang out at. I don't want a tourist stamp on my head. I'll try to blend in- even though with the three kids, we seem to make a scene wherever we go.
