Does anyone have input on County Green TH's in Charles Town? I've noticed a lot are for sale and was wondering what feedback there might be on that community. Is it nice, junky, etc... Any help is appreciated!

Junky, but that's just my personal opinion.

Mine, too. I was told by several Realtors not to buy or rent there. The front of the subdivision looks OK -- the back of it doesn't. You may get a good deal there, but I like Shenandoah Springs, Huntfield, Fairfax Crossing more as places to live.

why can I ask do you think that community is junky. I looked at a couple of houses there and it seems to be very nice. Working class people. I didn't see people who look nasty or anything. why do you all say that. we are looking all around WV so just wondering

Default Its nice

i live in county green--in the back section and despite what was previously written its a decent neighborhood overall. most homeowners there really do try, but like anywhere, you get a few bad apples and it ruins the whole barrel. there have been a few renter families that have moved in in the last year that leave much to be desired, but our whole neighborhood shouldn't be blamed for those degenerate few. i have seen many kids riding bikes and playing on the playgrounds, walking dogs, etc and that's a nice feeling to see people out & about with their families. plus the hoa does what it can to help out. it may not always work, but at least theyre trying!

Many of the homes in County Green were purchased as investments. Many have been foreclosed on. Condition varies widely. It has some of the lowest value townhomes of that age group in the county. The builder was Dan Ryan. They are now building at Farifax Crossing. You will find higher quality & higher prices in Shenandoah Springs, Windmill Crossing, Huntfield and the existing homes in Fairfax (not built by DR); but the prices are also higher.

I am trying to find out information on County Green as well, does anyone know what school system County Green goes to - elementary, middle, HS? I see that Clintsullivan and mnmjack both thought this is a junky neighborhood, can you elaborate? Drug problems, destructive neighbors, bad location? i was considering this neighborhood before reading this post and now im concerned, I have a young kids, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure about elementary, but the middle should be charles town middle which is just up the hill from the back of the s/d, and high school should be the new Washington High next to Huntfield. (look up jefferson county board of education)
I don't think you'll have a problem with drugs and crime, it's just been a neighborhood with lots of vacant foreclosures and rented homes which aren't always taken care of as well as some others.
Clint

I bought in county green last year. My only complaint is the kids. They play in the street all the time and seem to pay no mind to traffic. there are also like 3 houses on this street that are kind of annoying people who can be loud, but other than that it is a nice place.

Dear moving2WV--The elementary school for County Green (K-2) is Page-Jackson, the Intermediate School (3-5) is Wright Denny. My kids attend these schools and we live in the neighborhood. While its not perfection or Wisteria Lane, it is home and I feel safe letting my 3 kids play with the other neighborhood children. There seems to be a really close-knit group of friends/neighbors on my street (Dunlap) and most people have pride in their home.
