Can someone tell me what the commute time is from White Plains or Port Chester to Mahwah, NJ? Google maps says its only 30 minutes or so, but I know that doesn't take into account traffic....

Thanks!

The commute time is probably 30-45 mins. If you're going to be traveling to Mahwah to Westchester between 6:00 & 9:00 A.M. you'll be going opposite rush hour traffic. 4:00-6:00 P.M. would probaly take about 1 hour in that direction.

Thanks for the info! Is it 30-45 minutes from White Plains/Port Chester including the effect of traffic? I'd be going to Mahwah in the morning and away from Mahwah in the afternoon. The relocation person from the company i might work for said it would be at least an hour with traffic. I'm looking at that area because my boyfriend will be working in New Haven and we want to live around 30 minutes from each other. We won't be living together.... he will probably look near Norwalk or just east of there....

I would count on a good 45 minutes each way. You might get lucky and hit no traffic in which case 30-35 minutes is right. The big issue is the amount of road construction on 287 in Westchester. Has been a real crawl both ways on recent days. Also - the Tappan Zee bridge will be under repair in the not too distant future which will cause some issues.
