Hi,
Can anyone tell me what the community in Hastings is like? Demographics, diversity (or lack of), is it family oriented, etc? How are the schools? We don't need a top place like Bronxville or Scarsdale but still would like a good district.

Any idea if it is possible to get a parking spot at the train station? Are there houses close to the train?

Thanks!

Majority artsy professionals. Some townies. Not very diverse.

Schools are good but cater to the middle 80% of the bell curve.

When I lived there (5 years ago) if you lived in the village you could get a sticker to either park at the train station for free (for a few hundred bucks a year) or pay $5 for a sticker that lets you park at a meter. No wait for either.
I think things may have changed. Everything is fairly close to walkable.

It was fairly safe when I was there but the only place with issues was on Warburton very close to Yonkers. When I used to run down there in Yonkers, I would see broken glass seemingly indicating an occasional car break in.
