We are moving to Bedford in August, and my sons (3rd and 5th grade) are interested in playing football and soccer. Does anyone know which organizations are best for these two sports in the Bedford area? Thanks, in advance.
Bedford has their own youth soccer program that has a good reputation and has travel teams when the kids get older. Tackle Football is somewhat limited at this age. Only Pop Warner has tackle before 3rd grade (though some large 2nd graders can join a few leagues if the teams need players). Pop warner has a westchester and a hudson valley league, but neither in bedford. After 2nd grade, beford has moved its team around from the Westchester youth, scarsdale rec youth and taconic youth leagues, over the the years. I am not sure where it is now. Each of these leagues have difference rules, so look carefully to make sure you are okay with the weight and age breakdowns. If its flag football you want at this age, bedford had one a few years ago and I think they still do.
