Looking at single family houses around that area, south western tip of White plains, east of Bronx parkway, between walworth and post road, but wondering how safe and 'nice' that area is ? Is it a bad area of White Plains to live in ?
I am from Northern Westchester. Having spent years going to White Plains for shopping and leisurely activities, I can help answer your question.
White Plains is the hub of Westchester. Not only because it is literally in the middle of the county, but because it’s a major financial trading ground. With franchises, car dealerships, retail stores, two malls, and a train station, it attracts people from all directions.
I look at the positive aspects because overall White Plains is a prosperous place. I find White Plains interesting because of all the different neighborhoods in this city. Not only that, but White Plains borders a lot of towns due to its location.
The neighborhood you mentioned is not near White Plains High School. I don’t know if you plan on attending White Plains High School, but it’s good to know where the school is. Fisher Avenue goes south towards Scarsdale, so you should check where the border is and understand the differences in tax in that area. That area is closer to the train station, so if you commute that will be something beneficial to you.
Since I don’t actually live there, I cannot speak to your safety questions.
