Croton and Yorktown festivals (New York, Bedford: to rent, houses, movies)

Hi - Does anybody know where we could find a list of festivals and other events that occur in Croton-on-Hudson and Yorktown Heights? The site Northern Westchester Home lists events but these are posted shortly before they occur and I'm unable to find listings at the village web sites. Thanks in advance.

What kind of festivals are you looking for?

Many are advertised in the Penny saver which can be found on line at www.nypennysaver.com Another good source would be the Journal News.

The biggest reason why its hard to find these events is that there is not one department that organizes them. Yorktown, for instance, has a Rec Department as does Westchester County and Croton on Hudson as well, but many of the events are done by private or non government entities.

If you are looking for something specific, I was born and raised in Yorktown, so I know a lot that is not published.

Hi - we are thinking of relocating to the area and would like to attend some type of public gathering such as parades or outdoor movies that people gather for. I went to Northern Westchester Home and saw that in past weeks there was the Teatown Fall Festival, a Fall Festival in nearby Bedford and another one at Muscoot Farms. The site has the type of information I'm looking for but I don't think the information is posted until shortly before the time the events occur and we need to plan further ahead to rent a car, etc.

After posting my reply I saw that I could see a listing of future events going to individual web sites such as Teatown Lake Reservation and Muscoot Farms.

Houseshopping - Your link brought me to Lohud.com but I don't see the "what's going on" section and nothing comes up when I search for those words. Can you tell me what section of the page "what's going on" can be found in?

I have enjoyed many events at Croton Point Park.... this is a county park so you may look up on the Westchester site for a list.... it has a great beach, plus there is a radio control airplane location which is great fun for the kids to watch...
