Do me a favor guys. Let me get back to the topic. If we want, one of us can start a new thread about Carpetbaggers during Reconstruction. I'd love to read/learn all about area history, Reconstruction and it's affect on the Tar Heel State in that thread - especially from the perspective of a knowledgable native.

Anyway, I was kinda' expecting that there were some NoCal folks around to say, "hey." I just didn't know if there were any SoCal natives in the region.

Perhaps there are none on the board, but maybe there hasn't been enough time. If there's any out here, "hey guys."

Garth,

LOL, went I saw Prune Picker as I am one! Though currently living
in the West, we are thinking about moving to WNC. Was raised
in the San Francico/Bay area, miss the diversity of people most of all.

We visited WNC, Franklin, the Great Smokies are awesome and the folks
Very friendly; especially enjoyed the Mtn Hertiage Days in Slyva? ! (Late
September)

Do tell what all you enjoy about WNC.
