Moving to the Asheville Area, Schools and Questions

We are in the Haw Creek/Reynolds (middle and high) school districts. We like them well enough. Have known a few families who have taken their children out of Haw Creek Elementary and put them in Claxton for a more diverse atmosphere (they came from the Bay Area, Ca.) and same goes for the transition from Reynolds High to Asheville High.

Check out Fairview Elementary, Cane Creek Middle and Renyolds High. No place is perfect but we were very happy with them. Fairview is a nice place to live if you don't mind being a little out of town. I would say the main disadvantage is the lack of restaurants and shops out here. Personally, it fits us but it would be nice to be able to eat a little closer to home sometimes. I have found the kids and parents to be very nice and welcoming.
