They use it on Mt Everest ffs, so chances are it will work just fine on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

My cell phone GPS worked much better than the brand new GPS I bought. Faster routes and it found more locations.

+1, as I suggested.

There are several spots I have driven in where our on dash GPS units will black out for short time, contrary to previous posts.

No kidding they work on Mt Everest: there is nothing but sky up to the geosynchronous sats.

Oops I somehow sent uncompleted. Due to fog, cloud cover that we often get up here it occasionally has trouble finding the satellite. I go downhill to clearer skies and its fine. But it has been known to suggest a rather roundabout means of getting some place especially if we go via the BRP.
