Holly Springs Plaza is a retail center located at the southwest corner of Sylva Road and Hyatt Road in the city of Franklin, North Carolina. It was built and opened in 1988.
Walmart #1217 was a previous anchor tenant at 305 Holly Springs Plaza, Franklin, North Carolia 28734-9432. It relocated in 2012 to a new Supercenter store at 273 Commons Drive, Franklin, North Carolina 28734-4798.
Ingle's Markets #132 is the present anchor at Holly Springs Plaza. Ingle's Markets purchased the property for over $3.7 million on Tuesday, 1 September 2015.
Has anyone heard speculation of Ingle's Markets proceeding to construct the new Ingle's #132 at Holly Springs Plaza? The replacement store could be identical to the new Ingle's #114, 1257 Georgia Road, Franklin, North Carolina 28734-9275, being a 72,000-square-foot supermarket with a pharmacy drive thru. I do not know if its possible gas station would be an Ingle's Gas Express or an I-Market convenience store.
Lots of rumors of that floating around here. Usually, people say they heard it from one of the store managers. Apparently, Ingles bought the old WalMart there, which needs to be torn down. So they're just hanging on to it to keep out the competition, or they're planning on building another Ingles.
Ingle's Markets acquired Holly Springs Plaza in 2015. The acquisition of Holly Springs Plaza prevents competing grocers, pharmacies, dollar stores, video stores, butcher shops, etc. from locating there.
I have heard speculation supermarket Publix has been seeking sites in Franklin for a future store location. If Publix makes progress on securing a site for a store location, I could see Ingle's Markets responding with a new Ingle's #132.
