What part of Texas? Houstonians would die from laughter at the idea Banner Elk is humid. It is a little more humid than Austin by is going to be 20-30 degrees cooler.

Let's just say the day time high is cooler than the night time low for most of Texas.

Now living in Texas from WNC Humidity? it's just cotton pickin hot here in TX at least the mtns cool down at night....cannot wait to get back to WNC!
