I don't know about that one but I think we just had a small one here near Bryson City. Can anyone confirm?
Check that: It happened about the same time as the 5.1 in Sparta. Pretty sure that's what we felt.
Strongest quake in NC since 1916 and aftershocks expected in 3-4 range with slight chance one could be larger than 5.1. Felt as far South as Atlanta over in KY and all over NC/TN/VA....2nd largest quake on East coast since 1944

Checked couple quake sites nothing in your area at that time...likely you felt one up here.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say in my last sentence. Seems a lot of people felt it at pretty good distances away.
Check out this map. It shows everywhere someone reported feeling it. Some as far as the Florida keys and Arizona. Unbelievable. https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthqua...ntensity=false
Thanks cool map... this morning a reminder that from Mississippi River EAST is at risk especially along New Madrid fault along Mississippi River and in this area. New Madrid due for 6-7+ anytime. There are 12 nuke plants sisters of Fukishima in that area...plus many large cities...
