So our year long house search ended up taking us to tiny Mill Spring and we are under contract for a house there. Wondering a couple of things.... Verizon seems to have good coverage.....any other carriers we should consider? The house currently has a Verizon hot spot, so seems like an easy choice (we would port over from Sprint).
Internet....Skyrunner sounds like it has some good plans. Any suggestions or recommendations there?? We don't game, but will likely just stream all our TV or maybe get Dish again.
Contractors..... Anyone have recommendations for or against contractors \ companies for....painting, granite counters, hardwood floor providers\ installers.
Thanks for any info! I have been googling up a storm, but always like to hear from folks on the ground.
Congratulations on finding your home. I don't live anywhere near there, but in general Verizon tends to have very good coverage in mountainous areas. We have very few dead spots along my regular routes in the Boone/Blowing Rock/Banner Elk area.
Others will have to help you with your other questions.

I think that satellite internet can work for "casual" internet use...as long as that does not include video, streaming or low-latency uses (real-time audio/video).

Unfortunately in some of the rural areas Spectrum internet or AT&T may not be available and satellite may be the only option.
As for TV service, I would consider an outside antenna as you can receive signals from Greenville-Spartanburg, Asheville, and Charlotte. More regional choices not available as a cable or streaming option.
