Hi all,

my wife has a seminar coming up a soon and we want to turn it into a weekend. The plan would be to drop her off at the seminar in the early a.m., and I'll take the dogs and myself to set up camp (tent camping)-then pick her back up when it's over probably around 4pm.

The goal:

river side or waterfall camping
hiking/mountain biking trails
I like primitive, she likes a bathroom--anything semi-primitive where she can go hit the pot when she needs to?

I got an FJ so off road necessity is taken care of. Would appreciate the best kept secrets and something we'll both have a blast at.

I would suggest Davidson River Campground in Brevard. Several close waterfalls, can camp next to river or do some tubing, and many many miles of hiking and mountain biking. Also it is a 20 minute drive up to mountain to Blue Ridge Parkway and Mt. Pisgah. Be sure to check out Black Balsam Mtn.

Next suggestion would be North mills river campground in brevard or possibly Black Mountain Campground.
