With your price range and being in Nashville you should be able to find quite a bit in Murphy, NC or the surrounding towns. It's the most western town and near the TN border. I've used realtor.com but I believe you need to know the town you're interested in, not sure. It usually has a map attached to each listing. Not sure if this helps so good luck and happy hunting.
I like using kellerwilliamsasheville.com there are a lot of great ways to search for properties on this site. I searched for a long time until I found this site, now I just use this one.
This is not an ad. I don't work for them, don't recommend them, I used another realtor for my last home purchase. Just a nice tool for folks looking in the area.

Currently the WNC MLS is changing over their centralized showing appointment service, which needs to be completed by April 1st. When you search on Realtors' websites this week, you may not get updated listings. I know that the B-Hanks site is only showing their own listings at the moment. So check back with various Realtors' sites (because ALL listings have to be on each Realtor's site). Here are the websites for the Asheville and the Hendersonville Boards of Realtors which may help you find a list of various other sites that may be more updated. WNC is a vast area, and you will need to zero in on a town or be inundated with information. Also try: www.ncliving.com
