I lived in Wichita for 5 months, 2 years ago and I like it and now I am livening in OKC and thinking about moving to Wichita. I like the VA better, it's smaller, less people, but most of all they have basements there. I like quite places. Apartments where I am living or any apartment is not quite, track houses are not quite, and even 5 acre lots can be noise. I never live in a house with a basement but if I did wouldn't it be quite it I took a grand and kind of sealed it up. I really like my peace and quite so would that be something good for me is to go to Wichita and buy a house with a basement, because they don't have any in OKC.

I'm sure there are other better less Wichita-like places that have homes with basements.

Hard to believe they don't have basements in OKC with all the tornadoes they get.

Sure, move to Wichita. If you are retired, why not? I think most houses in Wichita have basements.

If you feel that 5 acre lots are noisy, then I'm afraid you won't be happy in Wichita, even with a basement. Anywhere you live in Wichita is going to have noise whether it is emergency vehicles, barking dogs, noisy neighbors, etc. Basements will help, but they are not soundproof. My suggestioin would be a home in the country with a basement. Good luck to you.
