Wouldn't it be nice if there was somebody (singular or plural) who could sponsor that high school boy or help him to make his college dream come true? There seemed to be potential there and it was so sad when he dropped out and went back to that way of life. I was so hoping for a positive ending with him!!

Yeah we've been lucky, really. Did anybody see Dateline tonight? About the murders and attempted murder of 2 on the Applachian Trail. I just happened upon it.

I was reading this one site that says there are 2 possibilities, they aren't sure what model is correct but neither one is good if you don't like snow!

Doesn't bother me, February is tricky!

Suecen, Can you post a link to the show?

Susancruzs, The Appalachian trail runs from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mt. Kahtadin in Maine. I think that's right? I know it's around 2149 miles long? I read a few books regarding the trail. Sounds cool. The 100 miles wilderness in Maine is probably the most dangerous.

Looks like there's an outpour of support for the children of Appalachia.

ABC News: Children of the Mountains Inspire Viewers

These are one of the few feel good stories in the news these days.

Josh: Just search "Dateline NBC - Appalachian Murders - I just read the whole story (which helped because I tuned into the show l5 minutes late). It happened in Springville, VA - story is posted in the Bluefield newspaper. It was quite a scary story and timely in that they just had the 20/20 Applachian show on Friday. Hank: Yes that's good news - I was thinking something like that might happen - we have a lot of good people out there!!!
