I'm glad you are enjoying the snow, your family, too! This year has just been a little overwhelming for me, but I will admit the view out my bay window in my livingroom sure is pretty. Fortunately, I've had alot of help from neighbors to get the shoveling done. I'm curious to see what January brings!

We are hoping for a good old January thaw! Seriously, we have a small bungalow on a very small lot and the snow is half way up the front of the house. There is no place left to put anymore

I can relate to that, I'm on a corner across from a good sized hill so its like living in a snow bowl. I have a little Cape Cod and pretty buried right now! They call the park Picnic Hill haven't figured out why yet.

We live in the country so we have a lot of places to put snow. I was suprised when I walked out to fill the bird feeders that the snow was up to my knees.
When I go into town I can truely see how much snow we have. The piles are unbelievable. I drive a jeep so I sit up high but in a car I can see where it would be hard to see somoene coming down the road.
I know around here they try to move some of the snow off the lawns in town just to make it easier to see.
In Chicago in 79 we had so much snow you couldn't park on the street. We had to park in the lot at Jewel (grocery store). I have pictures of my son who was almost 2 outside and the sidewalk was like a tunnel. Snow piled up everywhere.

Two Rivers is awesome about the snow, no big piles on corners. They plow it to the center, and then haul it away. There's some on corners in neighborhoods but not where the streets are busy.

I remember 78/79 winter in Illinois that was crazy. In our neighborhood, someone put a large doll in a bikini on top of a huge snow pile with a sign, Florida or bust!

I came home from work one night and the snow was piled up so high, I had to walk up one side, hang on the top of the light post and slide down. They moved it later but it was pretty funny.

When we lived in upstate New York huge snowstorms were common. Same thing in NH. I think sometimes out east we had a lot more ice storms. But I love the snow. We are heading to MN to do a little downhill skiing.
We are also lucky we have a lot of places to put it so it doesn't overwhelm us.

Amen! I was on a Coast Guard icebreaker based out of Door County back in 77, 78, and 79. That was rough going from December through March. Spring tended to be foggy, chilly, and generally dreary, but summer and fall was great! Give me So. Cal from November through April and Door County May through October.

Just about anything other than a snowstorm is fine with me. I am especially fond of a nice little breeze about 68-72 degrees and that nice freshly mown lawn or hay smell coming across any field. Man I'm in heaven when I'm in that scenario. It just doesn't get much better. Although being by the lake ain't half bad, minus any crowds of course. Just the sounds of birds and the breeze through the trees (no mosquitoes please).
