Stevens Point has, or had, a good wildlife management program. The DNR was full of Point Grads.

Did you have a specific question?

All I can say is that if you come to UW-Milwaukee, for goodness sake... know a thing or two about urban life before you get there. I grew up a "city kid" attending public schools and regularly interacting with people of color. When I got to UWM, I realized most of the students didn't share my background and was shocked at how easily racial slurs came out of their mouths... it felt like I'd been transported back to 1955. I still wonder why, if these suburban/rural kids had such a problem with people who weren't like them, that they'd CHOOSE to go to school in a place like Milwaukee to begin with.

as stated, depends upon what you want to do as each place seems to have more specialized strengths in certain fields.

I am already planning on going to Stevens Point this fall. Just curious about peoples opinions of point and the other schools. Things they like, stereotypes, etc.

Being proud of ignorance is no way to go through life.

besides UW Madison, most of the other UWs are going to be relatively the same in regards to quality. most of them are actually pretty underrated on the national level. yea sure, they each have their own little quirks and and maybe a few different majors here and there, but otherwise location is the only huge difference (like i said, outside of UW Madison).

i actually went to a UW system school and got accepted into a better graduate program in the nation and was fully prepared for it. like i said, underrated colleges we have here in WI

"When in doubt, apply to Stout. If you're denied at that joint, try Stevens Point. If you don't get in there, there's always Eau Claire. If they say 'nay,' then look to Green Bay . . ."

LOL, Drover! Good one.

The tuition, fees and cost of living will also vary from school to school. Last I checked, UW Whitewater had the least expensive tuition of all of the UW system schools, and UW Madison had the most expensive tuition. The others were somewhere in between.

My brother-in-law has an undergraduate degree in Marketing from UW Whitewater, and he's experienced just as much career success at his multi-billion dollar workplace as other folks there who have expensive MBA's from flashy schools.
