I would give my manager some lemons on bosses day. I broke my ankle a month ago and he called me a klutz. I saw him yesterday and he didn't even acknowledge me nor ask how I was doing. Not even a thank you for coming in for their stupid drawn out long winded clinical review. What a douch. Maybe I could teach him how to make lemonade. He sure needs help in the personal skills dept.

It can't be to say "Thank You" because IMO, we thank them every day we come in to work and they thank us with a pay check.
Because all those greeting cards that Hallmark and American Greetings printed up aren't going to sell themselves.

LOL! Anything to sell a greeting card, I suppose!

Bosses Day is hilarious to me. Really? we need a day for bosses? My boss thought it was ridiculous too and was absoutely mortified that we took him to lunch.

So how much does this really mean? I guess at very least, they don't hate me. :-)
Most idiotic thing in history really.

Every day is Boss' day, they don't need a special day for the whole office to kiss up.

After all, there's no "analysts day", so why do bosses and secretaries get their own Hallmark Holidays?

Hallmark Holidays are idiotic in general. Mother's, Father's, Grandparent's, Valentine's, etc. All of those days are stupid. Why do we need a special calendar day to tell people that we care about them or that they're doing a good job? If they really deserve the praise, they should get it more than once a year. If not...why the heck do they get a day of praise and admiration?

It's just a ruse to increase revenues. They even sell election day cards now! Though I have to admit, some of the cards are quite funny...

I'm elated that none of my employees felt the need to "brown nose" and even mention "Boss's Day". They thank me every day by providing great work day in and day out. It doesn't need to be pointed out on a random day in October.

I love my boss. I gave her a goodie bag of chocolates! She seemed to appreciate it. I don't know if my co-workers knew it was bosses day... when I mentioned it to a few others they'd never heard of it.

I never really paid much attention to "bosses day" until I had a boss I actually liked and respected. I think that makes all the difference.

Budgets are so tight these days, its just one more thing to break the piggy bank!

Personally, I NEVER give gifts to ANYBODY---just so there's no misunderstandings! If I have a few busck left over, it goes to my kids, not to teachers, bosses, secretaries, etc, etc..........

I love my boss. I meant every word said in my card yesterday. I wanted him to know that I appreciate the fact that he's great to work for, listens to his employees, and is proactive when there is an issue.
