I am pretty sure this OP and the one you are talking are one in the same. I tell you, people don't have a life!
I agree with this theory. Why? Because the OP seems a bit overly obsessed with something most of us would not give a second thought about, and making it out to be far more than most people would. To even consider a person's future is in jeopardy due to trolling is a tad absurd, IMO. A very insignificant percentage of the population frequents forums like this. Think about it. If you went to work and told people a coworker was frequenting online forums, pretending to be someone else, and making awkward comments, would any of them really give a crap? They would probably think less of you for even thinking it mattered.
I think you should let "your friend" deal with his own issues and tend to yours. Whatever repercussions there may be you cannot help with them or change them so leave it to him to deal with his own mess. Focus on your life, your studies, your future.
Funny I think I have seen those Indian wanting white or other women of races posts a few times somewhere in IMDB. He really should seek professional help. But seriously, I never heard about him being outed and really couldn't care less. Most people probably never seen his posts nor care. Like others say, if he used his real name, it might hurt him. But chances are not likely.
Not even close. You should have seen the other posts he -- sorry, his "friend" -- posted under numerous prior guises.
