What is the average you spend on health insurance at work?

You Only:

You and Spouse:

You and Children:

You and Family:

Either one. Including health, dental, and life insurance?

It seems that since I landed a new job, the insurance has gone up drastically.

I can only speak for myself. I pay $99 per bi-weekly paycheck for the mid-deductible health insurance. I am fairly healthy but I am on some medication and would have done the high deductible if not for that. So basically I pay them to give me discounts on meds. The $99 is deducted before taxes, so in real dollars I pay about $80. I have heard that it is expensive.

Life insurance is offered by the company I work for so I don't have to pay into it. I haven't even signed up for dental yet. I think we re-enroll in December so I will get it then. It's just that the PPO is better but also more expensive, which is why I hesitated on it.

This is the first time I have enrolled for benefits (this is my first job out of college) so I don't know if that helped you any. But when I looked at the rates from 2012, they were easily $30 less for each paycheck than now. I think that's insane but maybe that's reasonable...

Ehhh for medical... less than $80/semi-monthly pre-tax for a "feature rich" plan.

Life insurance is free, paid by my employer.

We had a great co-pay plan that cost me about $150/month for 3 of us. Now, with the new laws driving up prices, my employer is paying out 5% more and my cost will go down a little but for a much weaker high deductible plan supplemented with a Medical Savings Account hat I will have to pay into. We will also pay $6 a month for dental which used to be free, to help them avoid the "cadillac tax."

Me: $120/month

Self-employed, so that covers 100% of the cost.

These prices are all very low compared to what I'm looking at. Geesh!

Me + Spouse $288, Me + Children $192, Me + Family $480. This is monthly of course! Would it be best to get outside insurance?

Not unusual rates. Employees nationally average pay 28% of cost. Family plans cost > $1,500 month typically. 28% of $1,500 = $420 per month.

For myself only, $77/month. Not sure what the spouse and family rates are.
