It won’t be delivered in time to be a holiday gift, but Florida workers who earn the state minimum wage will see a slight increase in their paychecks after Jan. 1. - See more at:

Excellent! This is good news. It's refreshing to hear real people getting real reasonable increases rather than all this garbage in the news where people are demanding $15/hr minimum wages.

I think that's what I was getting paid after two "raises" from my part time job in college that I had for a couple years, lmao. Nice. After going to college in FL and recently moving back, all I have to say is that FL is one weird state.

Had federal minimum wage kept up with inflation, it would be over $12/hour today. $15 isn't *that* crazy. Kindly dispense with the dramatics.

It's nice the dogs got a small bone, though.

Again. Pretty sure everyone has Yahoo! News available.

Not really a relevant work/employment topic.

Minimum wage, is clearly an EMPLOYMENT issue, and this post is clearly belongs in this section.

Other than my fast food job in high school and the one factory job I had before I started college (both in the mid '90s), I've never made that little per hour. Pretty pathetic that any state minimum wages are still that low.

Wow, $68 whole dollars more. Time to start house hunting for mansions along the beach.

No, it's not. It's a socioeconomic political issue. It will devolve exactly like the 27 other threads, 3 of which were started by the same OP.

Posting a link to a news article and never participating in the conversation is just lame. At least pick the right forum.

A $ .68 increase should be manageable by most businesses, so I fully agree with you.
