I'm sure everyone has had a type of body reaction or side effect when you were terminated sometime in your life at your job which might include the stare of death, cramped muscles, or that feeling of your heart sinking to the bottom.

My experiences?
Being canned for me is like being in the Sahara desert for a brief moment in time.
Total Dry mouth/Dry throat, gasping for a sip of water. You know that feeling right?

So let's share some of your experiences!
What type of strange involuntary reactions have you experienced during the moment of termination?

When fired from a job?

I've jumped out of planes at and above 12,000 feet.

When in Sao Paulo, Brazil - spent five days in a cell with two murderers.

and had a gun held to my head when I was robbed when in Malaysia.

Heart rate slightly jacked, but no involuntary side effects.

You need to provide us more details of each incident.

You mean besides the urge to hold my boss' head under the water in the fountain in the lobby?

Irritation at leaving on someone else's timetable instead of my own.
Indifference because this guy was determined to get rid of me, and did everything he could to make me look incompetent. Optimism at having some time to work on my house.
Regret at not being able to complete some projects for program directors whom I liked very much, and at not being able to see my work friends every day.
