When jobs say no experience necessary, they are usually talking about no experience needed in their specific field, not no work experience at all. A good interviewee can talk about how their other activities translate into work experience. Did you play on a team? Talk how that experience taught you to get along with people and value everyone's contribution. Do you do any volunteer work? Relate that to the job. Translate your "real world" experience to work experience. It sounds like you need to do some interview prep.
Regarding hourly work, many of the IT contractors that I work with are paid hourly and I envy them when we are working long hours into the night and I am on salary.

We have occasional entry-level openings, but that means it's probably your first (maybe second, if it's been less than a year) paid position. You still need college/intern experience to be ahead of others who have the same. And we pay salaries only to managers.
