Would you choose to work (any job) if you didn't have to? (profit, interest)

I wouldn't. There is no job on the planet that interests me. Even if I had a passion, having to work 40+ hours a week would destroy any passion I'd have for it. I enjoy doing "nothing." I am looking forward to retirement lol. I know there are some people who like work and their job is basically their identity. I don't think I'll ever be like that unfortunately.
Would you choose to work at your current job (state what it is) if you didn't have to?
Would you choose to work at your dream job (state what it is) if you didn't have to?
I'm with you OP. If I could stop working this instant, I would and I wouldn't miss it at all. Work gets in the way of life and to be frank, the only reason I am at my job is for the money. I could care less about the work I do or my coworkers. That is how I have felt about all of my jobs.
I'm with Wartrace. I have an endless amount of things that interest me outside of work that I have no or little time for.
I would absolutely stop working.
For some ridiculous reason however, many don't understand what "stop working" actually means. It's not that I would do nothing, I have tons I would do. Some of which could be characterized as work. But if it's not for money, I don't call it work. I wouldn't sit around and watch TV all day - that would be on e of the last things I would do.
But if I won the lottery this weekend, while I would call in "rich" to work the next day, I don't think I could NOT work for the rest of my life. I would get bored and would need to find something to occupy my time. And why not make money at it at the same time?
If I didn't have to work a 40 hour a week job, then I'd be putting in ~60 hours doing what I really wanted to do (my passion).
Putting in the few hours of free time I have after work will not get the job done. But if I was doing it for 60 hours for 5 - 8 years, it would, and I would do it.
I'm not sure I understand the question. If I hit the lottery tomorrow and could afford to retire in comfort, would I continue working? Probably keep working my current job, at least for a few more years, but if the future is the commute becomes longer I'd retire.
Believe me unless your a total welfare case with no ambition you would quickly get bored being off all the time, even the ultra rich have to plan a schedule what to do everyday, otherwise they quickly go insane from boredom. A lot of people that retire, even end up working part time, not that they have to but they want something to take up part of there day.
If your asking if I suddenly qualified to public assistance tomorrow so I could live in a trailer park or run down ghetto housing project with no air conditioning the answer is definitely No.
