The "management"(lolz) of my current job tell their favorite moles and snitch's to spread the word "management is going to cut back" occasionally in an effort to try to get us to "do more". So, teachers pet said this to me I loudly averred that "there is no need to cut back, just let me go--PLEASE, I volunteer" if they wont fight my UC. I got a long "shhhhhhhhh" and told not to start trouble. lol. Non-profit fun and hilarity. If you value your braincells and sanity, for the love of god, do not work at a non-profit!

You can get unemployment for being fired for poor performance, but not misconduct. Be sure you document reviews warnings etc because they are likely to try to lie about your reason for termination.

If your boss treats u like crap and yells and curses at u, you may have something there.

It is such a PITA going to work if u have a boss like that.

Better yet, do like my neighbor did. She didn't want to work so bad she decided to try for disability. Oh wait. She ended up killing herself.

The new job is terrible and the boss yells at me all the time and uses many four letter words. I would like to quit but can't go back on jobless benefits if I quit.

I want to be fired but in such a way that I would be eligible for jobless benefits again. My friends tell me that I stop working hard or am involved in any misconduct I will be ineligible to go back on unemployment. They think the best way to get fired is to try hard to do a good job but complain to the next level boss about my supervisor. And if he does not do anything, then move up the chain of command and keep complaining. There are four levels above my supervisor.

They will call me a complainer and lay me off. But because I follow company procedure I will still be eligible for jobless benefits. What do you think?
My advice is to look for a new job, instead of trying to get laid off. I somehow think that your plan will backfire. It also looks terrible on a resume for someone to get laid off from two jobs in a row. That will damage your future employment options.

If your manger is using inappropriate 4letter word & being unprofessional, you have every right to contact HR. You have every right to tell his manager. I think ur friends gave solid advise, not only forgetting unemployment but mainly for dealing with such behavior. You have to fix ur current situation before thinking abt future

I did a quick google search for you.

Quote:
2. You can prove that it was a hostile work environment. You cannot be fired for complaining about being harassed or discriminated against. You can’t be fired for reporting or complaining about illegal activity or about health and safety violations. You cannot be fired for taking family and medical leave, taking leave to serve in the military, or to taking time off work to vote or serve on a jury. If you are fired for one of these reasons you should contact a lawyer.
source:
search google for "acceptable reasons to get fired to receive unemployment" (without quotes) and choose the first result

You did it! You did it! You pointed a finger at someone, and when you point a finger at someone, you're pointing 4 fingers at yourself!

Human nature: finding shortcuts, the easiest way out, the easiest solutions and avoiding responsibilities!

Obviously, you're not part of the human race?

I can attest to having "Quit with cause" and receiving benefits. I'd have preferred to stay working, but the company forced my hand. Glad they did, I ended up quitting smoking besides winning the UI battle.
